David Avanesyan is being given a lot of credit for his career accomplishments and he is being perceived as a big threat in his division but in reality he hasn´t beaten that many good fighters. He has built up a record of 26-3-1 with 14 wins coming inside the distance. His best wins came against Kerman Lejarraga who was highly touted himself when he was unbeaten. He then repeated that win in the rematch and knocked him out even faster. Since then people have really started to take notice of him because Kerman Lejarraga was on the verge to start challenging for titles but Lejarraga had a a lot of flaws and he was exposed. Other than that Avanesyan has lost to the top guys. He lost a decision to Lamont Peterson and he was knocked out against Egidijus Kavaliauskas. Josh kelly is not very experienced at the top level but he is a talented guy. The reason why people are doubting how he will fare against Avanesyan has to do with his performance against tricky southpaw Ray Robinson. The fight ended in a draw but most people had Robinson edging it. But Avanesyan doesn´t have the difficult style of Ray Robinson and he doesn´t have his length and reach which was some of the factors that was troubling him on the night. We expect David Avanesyan to bring the fight to Josh Kelly but he will be caught a whole lot on the way in and out. Kelly will have learnt from the mistakes in his past and he will not take Avanesyan lightly so we expect Kelly at his very best.
Josh Kelly is the more talented fighter of the two and he has the home advantage. We see the fight being close on the scorecards with Kelly doing the better work in most of the rounds and edging this fight. The pick is Josh Kelly to win by Decision for a price of +150 (2.50 decimal odds)
