Gennadiy Golovkin vs. Kamil Szeremeta

12 rounds, for Golovkins IBF middleweights title

Gennadiy Golovkin (40-1) looked tremendous at the weigh in and he made the 160-pound weight limit without any problems as usual. He says that he feels good and he does look a little bit rejuvenated. He is facing Kamil Szeremeta who is unknown to most boxing fans in the United States and UK. He is undefeated with a record of 21-0 but has never really faced any good fighters. Somehow he managed to become the mandatory challenger with the IBF while seemingly other guys should be before him on the list. In his last fight he put in a career best performance when he stopped an out of shape Oscar Cortez in two rounds. Szeremeta was a successful amateur in Poland on a national level and he beat Maciej Sulecki several times. Golovkin might be on the decline but he is still operating at a very high level. Szeremeta has never been in the ring with anyone like Golovkin before which is why the bookies have GGG as a big favorite to win this fight. Szeremeta has been in good spirits all week and he has said several times how big this fight is for polish boxing. It will be the biggest boxing event involoving a polish fighter for the entire year and there will be a lot of folks back home rooting for him. This is likely to give him extra energy and he will give it his all, that´s for sure. (sign in to view our prediction & pick)

Golovkin has more than enough in the tank to beat someone like Szeremeta who is a decent fighter but just not good enough. Golovkin will first outbox him and then knock him out. The pick is Gennadiy Golovkin to win by ko/tko
