Eleider Alvarez (25-1) faces tough contender Joe Smith jr (25-3) in a 12 round main event saturday night. Alvarez is coming of a spectacular performance where he basically was winning a shutout against Michael Seals but then landed a monsterous right hand in the 8th round to knock the opponent out cold. Before that fight he had his two fights with kovalev where he won the 1st one by knockout but was outboxed in the rematch and lost back the belt he had just won. One thing is clear about Alvarez, he is a good boxer and his accuracy stays sharp even late in fights. Joe Smith jr has been the underdog for most of his career and he has done the most of it and surprised a lot of people along the way. His right hand packs serious knockout power and opponents have to be very careful and wary about his power.
