Joseph Parker vs. Shawndell Winters

10 rounds, heavyweights

Joseph Parker (26-2) faces Shawndell Winters (13-2) on the undercard of Garcia-Vargas in a 10 round fight. Parker has 2 losses on his resume against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte but he has never been stopped. Joseph Parker is a very good fighter and he has good power in both his right hand and his powerful left hook. Against Joshua he lost to the better man, he couldn´t get to Joshua in that fight. But when he fought Dillian Whyte, it was a back and forth type of fight with Parker coming on strong in the 12th round knocking down Whyte and had him in big trouble, but there was not sufficient time to do more damage and the round and fight ended. It looked like it could have gone either way but Whyte was awarded the victory.

Shawndell Winters is not known to the casual boxing fans and when examining his fights, it is obvious that he is much better than what his record suggests. In 2019 he had his best year as a professional fighter where he fought twice and pulled of two upsets in fights he was supposed to lose on paper. Most noticeably he managed to knock out former Olympian Oleksandr Teslenko from Ukraine who was 16-0 coming in to the fight. Teslenko had an amateur record of 224 wins in 249 fights which says that he was both good and experienced. Shawndell Winters was able to beat a guy like that which tells us that he is dangerous although he is 39 years old. (Sign in below to get our pick and prediction).

Winters has never faced someone with the kind of power that Parker has, nor has he faced anyone as tough and rugged as Parker. We see Parker getting the job done here and somewhere in the fight landing something big enough to get Winters out of there.
