Claressa Shields has achieved an enourmous amount of success in a very short time frame. What she didn't need was the bad publicity she got after Habazin's trainer James Ali Bashir was viciously attacked at the weigh-in for the previous date they were scheduled to meet. He had to be taken to the hospital and the fight was cancelled. Shields is moving down a division from 160 pounds in this fight to the contracted 154 pounds while Habazin is moving up from 147. It is difficult to get excited about this match-up because habazin has done nothing in the past that makes you believe she can be competitive with Claressa Shields. But to Habazin´s credit, she seems very motivated and has trained hard with experienced trainers. So we expect her to be at her very best. The problem she has however, is that her very best still will not be competitive with Shields who has been very dominant. Despite the dominance, Shields only has 2 stoppages in 9 fights but she has never scored a single knockdown which is a little bit weird because it looks like she punches with good power and she is good enough technically to land clean.
Habazin will try and she is as motivated as can be for this bout, but like we mentioned. She is not good enough technically and that will be apparent. The Pick is Claressa Shields to win
