Anthony Dirrell vs. David Benavidez

12 rounds, for Dirrell's WBC super middleweight title

David Benavidez will get a chance to win back the WBC super middleweight title he lost out of the ring when he faces Anthony Dirrell on the undercard of Spence jr vs. Porter. Dirrell (33-1) with 24 ko´s has only lost once, when he was beaten in a close fight by Badou Jack in 2015 but lately he has just started to look a little more vulnerable. His fight with Avni Yildirim was basically fought on even terms for 10 rounds before it was stopped due to a cut above Dirrell´s eye. The timing of the fight might just suit Benavidez who looks so dynamic and powerful for the weight. Benavidez had a very close fight in his first encounter with Ronald Gavril. Some people even thought Gavril deserved the win. Then in the rematch, Benavidez handled him with ease. After that, Benavidez fought J´leon Love and stopped him in 2 rounds. Ronald Gavril is unknown to many boxing fans but he is a good fighter and he had an excellent amateur career with over 300 fights. Anthony Dirrell is up against his toughest opponent since he faced Badou Jack.

Dirrell at 34 years old will struggle with the youth and energy of David Benavidez. Dirrell will still be dangerous the whole fight because he does have a big punch himself but the timing of the fight will benefit Benavidez. The Pick is David Benavidez to win.
