Alexander Povetkin in his best days was a very good boxer as he proved way back in 2004 when he won an Olympic Gold Medal at the Super Heavyweight class. He seems to be way past his prime now at 39 years old. In his last fight against Anthony Joshua a year ago, he proved in instances what makes him so dangerous as he was outboxing Joshua at times and even hurt him once. In the end, his stamina failed him and when his defense started to slow down he was caught with some big punches from where there was no return. He was knocked out in the 7th round in that fight. Hughie Fury is a very good technichal boxer with fast hands and feet. His downside is that he doesn´t seem to be punching hard enough to hurt the big boys in the division. When he lost a majority decision to Joseph Parker, his whole team was complaining about the scorecards but we think the win for Parker was fair as he was the one landing the harder shots.
Povetkin as we mentioned is not what he once was and Fury is just getting better and better and maturing in the process. This will be a close fight that will come down to what the judges like because Fury will be throwing those shots that barely reaches the target to keep Povetkin at a long distance away from him while povetkin will be pushing forward and because of Fury´s movement he will miss a lot of the shots. Povetkin is likely to tire in the 2nd half of this fight due to his past PED issues which gives Fury a good chance to win many of the rounds in the end. We think this will be Fury´s night. The Pick is Hughie Fury to win.
