Erickson Lubin is extremely talented. He has been boxing since he was 5 years old and was an outstanding amateur. He was pushed fast as a professional and he really did look sensational. His team had so much confidence in him that they put him in with Jermell Charlo just a little too soon. To be fair, all bookies had the fight a 50/50 pick´em. Many people were picking Lubin to win because of his incredible talent. The problem is that he didn’t have the sufficient experience as a pro against a certain level of opponents to prepare him for someone like Charlo. Of course hindsight is always 20/20. He was stopped in the very first round. Thankfully he has had the right attitude about the loss and has said all the right things in the lead up to this fight with Zakaria Attou from France. Attou has a good record of 29-6 and has been a pro since 2007. He hasn’t lost in over 10 fights to his credit.
Attou hasn’t lost in over 10 fights dating back to 2015 which looks good at first glance. The bad part is that he has been facing horrible opposition and barely beaten them. You can’t put Zakaria Attou in with a world class type of talent like Erickson Lubin and expect him to do well. Lubin is so superior in every way, this really is no fight for Lubin who will break him down and stop him. The Pick is Erickson Lubin to win by ko/tko.
