Chris Algieri vs. Tommy Coyle

10 rounds, junior welterweights

Chris Algieri had a long and needed break after his stoppage loss to Errol Spence jr. Since then he has come back with 2 straight wins and he has expressed the desire to have another title fight. Many people are questioning him after his most recent performance where he barely won on points against a limited opponent. They think he is over the hill. In this fight he is facing Tommy Coyle from the U.K who has looked full of confidence during the whole build-up. Coyle has a descent record of 24-2 with 12 ko´s and he is coming off some impressive wins. Although Algieri has been stopped against Spence and has other losses to Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao we have to remember that those guys are elite welterweights, Tommy Coyle is not. Coyle has been stopped against lightweights in the past. Normally this would be an easy call for Algieri but he did have a tougher than expected fight in his last time out against Daniel Gonzalez who is of similar quality to Coyle. Coyle´s form and hunger will make this a close fight. Algieri´s last three wins have come via decisions and even if Coyle has the night of his career there is no reason to believe he should be able to stop someone like Algieri. Chris Algieri should win a close dec but the safe pick here is the over 8.5 rounds. The Pick is Over 8.5 Rounds.

The Pick: Over 8.5 Rounds
