Gilberto Ramirez (39-0) will have his first fight at light heavyweight this Saturday when he faces Tommy Karpency (29-6). Karpency is fairly experienced in the division and has been in with Gvozdyk, Stevenson and Fonfara. He tried his best but was stopped against all three. Therefor he was chosen as a first test for Ramirez at the new weight. Ramirez is much better technically and way too fresh and busy for a fighter of Karpencys caliber. Karpency also feels a bit shopworn. Ramirez has decent power and his stamina is good for 12 rounds. We expect Ramirez to dominate in this fight and depending on the conditioning of Karpency either stop him in the second half or win a clear decision.
